Derek Dobbs came to Radiator Springs to find a job as a painter with his old friend Ramone in his House of Body Art studio. He also painted murals and was author of a mural near the Radiator Springs Courthouse & Fire Department that features Ramone and Flo with the words "A Happy Place" above them. He most-likely left Radiator Springs as town lost popularity among tourists and fell into economic problems.
