He was a professional race driver, who, in the 1950s, competed in the Piston Cup Racing Series with the number 26, where he was sponsored by Fits Right, Faster's Garage, Grandol Oil Co. and Dinoco. He competed in the race at the Thomasville Speedway, during which the Hudson Hornet had jumped over Leroy Heming.
