History[]

Cars 2 (Australia only)[]

In Cars 2, Frosty was invited to the opening party of the World Grand Prix at the National Art Center in Tokyo, Japan. During the party he spoke to Lewis Hamilton and briefly to Lightning McQueen. However, their conversation soon came to a stop when Mark pointed out Mater talking to Zen Master, making McQueen remove himself from the conversation. He later reappears in Mater's flashback with Lewis laughing at McQueen and Mater just before the London race.

Other appearances[]

Despite being exclusive to the Australian version of Cars 2, Frosty has made a couple appearances in books. He appears in the Neon Racers book and Ice Racers book where he shown to compete in the Transcontinental Race of Champions.

Trivia[]

  • He is based on, named after and voiced by Australian V8 Supercar driver Mark Winterbottom. His paint job includes the map and flag of Australia.
  • Frosty replaces Jeff Gorvette the time of one scene in the Australian version, which is part of a localization of the movie in several countries.
  • Frosty has the same car body as Max Schnell, Long Ge, Memo Rojas Jr., Vitaly Petrov, Pyotr Racinov, and Flash Nilsson.
  • On his diecast and in his artwork, his eyes are blue, but in the movie, they are brown.
  • Despite having a bio that implies that he takes part in the World Grand Prix, he actually does not race in the film, making it misleading. Long Ge, Memo Rojas Jr., Vitaly Petrov, and Flash Nilsson also don’t race either, even if they appeared at the opening party.
  • His car-ified last name is Winterbumper, however, because of his Mattel die-cast not including his last name, many assumed his last name was Winterbottom.
  • Frosty is the one of the two Super Chase racers from the 1:55 scale die-cast line to have variants. Ranging from a Silver Racers one, Neon Racers, Ice Racers and Carbon Racers variant.
    • Vitaly Petrov received one variant via the Ice Racers line.
  • While Frosty does not have a confirmed number in the series, he has been seen with two so far. He was seen with the number 4 in the Neon Racers book however the Transcontinental Race of Champions series has depicted him with the number 12.
  • Frosty does not have a confirmed top speed either but since he competes in the V8 Supercars series it could be assumed that his top speed is around 186 mph (300 km/h). Which is the actual top speed of V8 Supercars.
  • Despite Frosty racing in the V8 Supercar series he does not resemble a V8 Supercar race car himself. Rather, resembling a DTM race car like Max Schnell and many others.
  • Although Frosty had die-cast releases during the period of Cars Daredevil Garage none of his T-ROC die-casts could be scanned in the game, likely due to him only appearing in the Australian version of the movie.
