Galloping Geargrinder, or the Old Model T (as referred to by John Lasseter), is an old train who works on the Ornament Valley Railroad. In Cars 2, Geargrinder scares Lightning McQueen and Mater away when they are playing on the Ornament Valley train tracks.

He is a 1935 Rio Grande Galloping Goose[1] with a black paint job and a front cowcatcher covering his chassis. He has six small wheels, a lantern on his side, and a small gate protecting cargo on his back.
