Hey, RodRedlineM1, I need some help here. 124PX1 is still going on about changing the layout of pages against the Manual of Style and adding them to bigger and smaller categories. Now, he's gone and discussed with me why we should all do that from now and asked what I think (link is here). I don't know if I can't cope with this and whether you'd agree, because I am also trying to follow what you picked in the first place. Hope to hear back from you soon.
I wrote a pretty lengthy response on that original thread. In summary, I actually support changing the article format, as I've had very similar thoughts in the past, believe it or not. I'd like to keep categories the way I've advocated for, though.
I definitely understand when you say you're not sure if you can cope with it. Ever since Cars 3 came out I've constantly found myself frustrated with the workload and monotany of it all. The few times I've made a legitimate attempt to get back into editing here, I always get overwhelmed by the feeling that everyone else is actively ignoring any public announcement or editor's note I try to make. Doing this is far more stressful than it used to be, and, in my opinion, than it needs to be. But that's just my two cents.
The Manual of Style will give you all the "essentials" about how the wiki is organized, at least in terms of formatting. You could also look in Category:Help pages, though unfortunately there aren't a lot of pages in that currently.
Hello there, allow me to introduce myself: I'm Andrew Buoy from Belgium Europe and I'm the accountholder of the Instagram page Worldofcars_forum (you should check it out if you can.) For some years now I post 3 pictures aday and with these pictures I try to inform followers about the cars I post. For this information I check you site and copy some text out of it by character. I always credit your site with this info, so I've made publicity for this site for quite some time now.
But what I'm here for: I'm giving you guys the rights to use my pictures to put next to the characters in this site. Cause I've seen plenty who have no picture or a realy bad one. The only thing you have to do is credit my worldofcars_forum instagram page, that's it.
This could be benificial to the bouth of us. I make publicity on my page and you do on yours.
Feel free to mail me with any questions what so ever.
Lately, we've been trying to faze out merchandise pictures on character articles. However, I think those would be incredibly useful on pages like the 1:55 Scale Die-Cast, or perhaps other merchandise-related articles.
It's nice to meet you, by the way. I actually visit your site very often whenever I need to check recent die-cast releases. :)
Recently, CuteYoshi101 created a page about adult innuendo in the Cars franchise. It's currently called "List of innuendo in the Cars series", and I'm not sure that it should even be on the wiki despite recalling you agreeing with the idea years ago but I didn't go ahead with it. And now, while I'm trying to make sure the page is marked as a request for deleting and everyone must discuss it on the talk page, CuteYoshi101 keeps reverting my edit and replacing it with the "protected" template, which shouldn't be used either because the page isn't even locked. Can you please help me out here? Because it doesn't look like anyone else is ever gonna discuss whether we should have that page or not.
I don't really see the point in having it. What's considered "adult humor" is subjective anyway, and in my experience, people tend to go a bit overboard. I don't mean to sound condescending, but I don't think a lot of people here would manage a page like that well.
Sorry for my inactivity, by the way... for some reason this site has completely slipped my mind for the last week or so. Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be more active.
Okay. Well, CuteYoshi101 has already decided to have the page requested for deleting anyway, but he's put all of the content onto a blog of his own, which I'm not sure whether that would be allowed either.
What pages specifically? Certain pages get locked due to vandalism. We've had a lot of problems with the Lightning McQueen and several Cars 3 racer articles for example.
I used to protect others because they were for upcoming books and stuff like that, but naturally I haven't gone through and undone all of those. Like I said, if you can give me specifics I can see review them for you.
I'm TotallyLogical an adminstrator from the Toy Story Wiki and we we're wondering if you would like to affiliate with us. Affiliate means we will place a link to your wiki on our home page and/or affiliates page and you will have a link to our wiki somewhere on your wiki. This will benefit both wiki's by creating a virtual bridge between us so we can attract and exchange editors.
