Chase Racelott, a Next-Gen 2017 Race Car SA-5.

Next-Generation, also referred to as Next-Gen and third generation, is a term used to describe high-tech generation of race cars competing in the Piston Cup Racing Series since 2016, debuting in Cars 3.

Jackson Storm was the first car of the generation to compete in the Piston Cup. He debuted during the Dinoco 400 at the Copper Canyon Speedway where he won the race, starting a trend of replacements of old stock cars in racing teams with Lightning McQueen being the last stock car to be replaced during the Florida 500 in 2017.

Next-Gen is one of the companies that manufacture the next-generation cars.
