Phil Tankson is a Piston Cup racer. He supersedes Aiken Axler and Joltsen as the Nitroade racer. Tankson competes in the 2017 Piston Cup season, prior to being replaced by Tim Treadless.
History
In Cars 3, Phil competes in the 2017 Piston Cup Season against the likes of Lightning McQueen, Bobby Swift, Cal Weathers, and many others. After Jackson Storm wins the Dinoco 400 at Copper Canyon Speedway, the Nitroade team fires Phil and replaces him with a next-generation rookie racer named Tim Treadless.
