Piston Cup racer
Ralph Carlow is a race car who competes in the Piston Cup Racing Series as a member of the Lil' Torquey Pistons team. He is a Brawny Motor Co. Spark GT that is painted blue, with red and white on his doors. He has the number 117 painted in yellow on his doors, red rims, and the Lil' Torquey Pistons logo painted on his hood. On his roof, he has a red stripe.
In Cars, Ralph is one of the thirty-six participants in the Dinoco 400 at the Motor Speedway of the South. He is involved in the accident created by Chick Hicks, during which he is seen hitting Winford Bradford Rutherford and Murray Clutchburn, and while he suffers some minor physical damage, he is still able to continue racing.
In Cars 3, he competes in the 2016 Piston Cup season, against many new next-generation racers. He can still be seen racing at the Los Angeles International Speedway, and then after that, Ralph either retires or gets fired by Lil' Torquey Pistons, and gets replaced by a next-gen racer named Spikey Fillups for the 2017 Florida 500.
"Number 117, Ralph Carlow is the little brother to famous Hollywood actor Jordon Carlow. The two brothers had little respect for what the other did for a living, but when Jordon got a role playing a race car in the film "Racing Hearts," he was forced by the studio to spend time shadowing his brother Ralph. After two long months of research Jordon came away with a new respect for how hard racing really is, and after seeing his brother's performance in the film Ralph gained a new respect for acting. Since then Jordon never misses a race and Ralph never misses a premiere."
