In Cars, Roger first appears at the Motor Speedway of the South race commanding The King and his pit crew team in hopes of winning, only for the race to result in a three-way tie between The King, Chick Hicks and Lightning McQueen.

Roger later appears at the tie-breaker race at the Los Angeles International Speedway. Before Darrell Cartrip and Bob Cutlass make note of Doc's presence as McQueen's crew chief, he and The King's pitties stare admiringly at him.
