Sterling is the hidden main antagonist of Cars 3. is a businesscar that owns the Rust-eze Racing Center, an elite training facility. He is a sports car with a silver coat of paint. He is described as "laid back" and "unassuming", though he takes business seriously,[1] and doesn't say things that are "not charming".[2]. He is the boss and sidekick of Jackson Storm.

History

In Cars 3, Sterling brings up the subject of McQueen's retirement while introducing McQueen to a selection of merchandise based on him, he makes a deal with McQueen that if he can not win the Florida 500 then Lightning will have to retire. At the Rust-eze Racing Center, McQueen is introduced to Cruz Ramirez, who helps him train to defeat Jackson Storm in the Florida 500.

  • Sterling is simillar to Lola from the DreamWorks movie, Shark Tale.
    • Both were the former friend of the protagonist (Lightning McQueen and Oscar)
    • Both are rivals of the protagonist's true love interest (Cruz Ramirez and Angie)
    • Both worked for their sidekick (Jackson Storm and Don Lino)
    • Both try to hide there true nature.
    • Both abuse the protagonist a lot.
    • Both later get their comeuppance (Lola looks for Oscar and Sterling gets arrested)
      • Apparently, Sterling is also similar to Prince Hans from the Disney movie, Frozen:
        • Both were thought to be good people.
        • Both were the buddy of the protagonist (Lightning McQueen and Anna).
        • Both later betray the protagonist and left them for dead.
        • Both later get their comeuppance (Sterling was arrested by Sheriff whilst Hans was sent back to his kingdom to be punished by his brothers).
