The novel Cars Origins: Lightning states his real name is Monty McQueen, but was restored back to the more popular name as there is "no source for the name" 1. I Just told the source

Strip Weathers is named on his page by his real name, and McQueen's true name got sourced, so we better change the name back to real or the wiki won't be consistent.
