It appears in Tokyo Mater, because it is used for the arrival of drift races: the first who grabs the flag at the top wins. Since Cars: Race-O-Rama and Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales: The Video Game include levels based on Tokyo Mater, the tower also makes appearances in both games. In Cars 2, the tower appears just after Lightning McQueen, Mater and their team arrive in Tokyo.
