Tsubasa (翼) is a racing competitor in the Wings Around the Globe rally as racer #23.

Bio

Planes The Japanese Racer, Tsubasa, is known as "The Ninja" because competitors never see or hear him coming! With his slick airframe, he slices past them like an invisible warrior.

In Planes, he sets the second fastest time in the qualifier round for the Wings Around the Globe and competes in the rally.

He is then seen in many shots of the racers throughout the movie. He is strangely not seen in the Wings Around the Globe pit row at John F. Kennedy International Airport along with his tent, although it could be that he was somewhere else at the time.

When Dusty is broken and needs repairs, Tsubasa gives him supplies.

Profiles and statistics

  • Bio
    • "Tsubasa is known as the "Ninja" because no one ever sees or hears him coming! Competitors fear the stealth of this master from Japan, who slices past them like an invisible warrior, eluding even their radar. His slick airframe produces little drag and nary a whisper - Tsubasa's propeller blades have brush-like trailing edges and are driven by a silenced engine, which reroutes its exhaust noise through his muffled intake. His unique "Shinobi style" of racing is based on illusion and misdirection - Tsubasa disappears into one cloud and emerges from another, leaving his opponents in a tailspin."[1]

Trivia

  • In Japanese, "Tsubasa" means wing.
