Wings Around the Globe, or the WATG Rally, is an annual air racing competition that uses competitors from all around the world. It is broadcast on the Racing Sports Network, with Brent Mustangburger as the host and announcer. The competing planes fly around the world for around 80 hours, across three continents, two oceans and dozens of countries, but only stops in six cities.

History[]

2002 season[]

The 2002 season was briefly mentioned by Ripslinger during the short Meet Ripslinger. This season was Ripslinger's debut season and first win.

2011-2012 seasons[]

The seasons of 2011 and 2012 were briefly mentioned by Colin Cowling at the start of the 2013 New York to Iceland Leg. Both seasons were won by Ripslinger.

2013 season[]

The 2013 season happened during the events of Planes. This season was El Chupacabra, Dusty Crophopper, Yellow Bird, Arturo, Tsubasa, and Joey Dundee's debut season and Dusty Crophopper's first win.

2014 season[]

The 2014 season happened during the events of Planes: The Video Game. Ripslinger was suspended from competing in this season for smashing the blue and white checkpoints in Nepal, vandalizing the Great Wall of China, and using a paint sprayer to mess with the racers during a WATG race in China. It was also Dusty Crophopper's second win.

2015 season[]

The 2015 season was Dusty Crophopper's "perfect season", winning every leg of the entire event. Ripslinger was allowed to compete in this season, but didn't win any of the legs, This was Dusty's third championship.

2016-2017 season[]

The 2016 season was Dusty's first loss since 2013, but he ended up finishing 2nd, behind El Chupacabra. But in 2017, Dusty made history by breaking the record for most championships, winning his 4th WATG Rally.
